Is there more than one?

Sometimes I find myself with time between appointments on a day that it’s pleasant to sit and watch the world go by. Additionally on those days, I might also be hungry.

Nestled among the copious cafes in Manuka I spotted a new one. Or perhaps it had been there a while, and I had just missed it; in it discreetness. It’s quaint setting and large glass windows on either side of the door and the tables under the shade of large trees on the lawns.

I ordered. Latte, EB with bacon.

This beauty came on corn cakes with a smattering of pickled cabbage as a garnish under the house made sauce (yay!)

There is a danger when you start messing with the core elements that you end with a disaster on a plate, but in this case, it was rather spectacular.

The sweetness of the vinegar of the cabbage, and the zestiness of the lemoned hollandasie sauce complimented the saltiness of the bacon brilliantly. The corn cakes, rather that bread/toast/muffin lifted the whole thing to perfection.

Would I go back. Totally!
